{"collection_id":"htan_vanderbilt","collection_name":"HTAN-VANDERBILT","cancer_types":"Colon Precancer","tumor_locations":"Colon","species":"Human","subjects":30,"supporting_data":null,"description":"Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the top three most prevalent cancers in global incidence and\nmortality. Most of these cancers develop from pre-cancerous adenomas. There is an unmet need to\ndevelop new preventive strategies and risk stratification models to decrease incidence, improve\nearly detection, and prevent deaths from CRC.\nWe believe that the ability to provide the most effective precision diagnostics and preventive\nstrategies can only be achieved with single-cell analysis. As such, we will map spatial\nrelationships across the spectrum of normal colon, early polyps, and late adenomas, including their\nunique stromal and microbial microenvironments to identify unique molecular phenotypes.\nOur goal will be accomplished through prospective, standardized collection and analysis of\ncolorectal tissue, associated biospecimens, and related clinical and epidemiological data from\nparticipants undergoing colonoscopy or surgical resection. The biospecimens from these participants\nwill be used for single-cell RNA sequencing, whole exome sequencing, multiplex immunofluorescence,\nspecies-specific bacterial fluorescence in situ hybridization, and other approaches. Finally, the\ninformation from these approaches will be integrated to develop a single-cell pre-cancer atlas with\ndefined molecular phenotypes for dissemination to the broader scientific community.\nPlease see the\nDICOM converted Slide Microscopy images for the HTAN-Vanderbilt collection (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12690006)\ninformation page to learn more about the images\nand to\nobtain any supporting metadata for this collection.","patients":30,"studies":30,"series":30,"instances":217,"size_TB":0.069,"modalities":["SM"],"licenses":[{"license_short_name":"CC BY 4.0","series":30,"size_TB":0.069}]}
